the Arcadian Recorder is not the Acadian Recorder
My publication, the Arcadian Recorder, published in Halifax Nova Scotia intermittently since 1980 can sometimes be found on the web being credited for publishing articles from a century earlier - articles that were actually published by the famous Acadian Recorder also from Halifax Nova Scotia. I can’t say that I am totally blameless, as I deliberately named my publication as an homage to the earlier newspaper. Nova Scotia for centuries was called Acadia and there is a strong school of thought that says that the name Acadia was itself based on the idea of the Maine Maritimes region being a New World Arcadia, so I was just squaring the circle. The Arcadian Recorder was my text side, reflecting my interest in public affairs and politics - just as Strident Records and Parvenu Publishing reflected my love of songwriting and record production..
